Vancouver & Whistler – My Winter Wonderland
My first week in Vancouver was incredible. I learned so much about the city and its history, and I met many people who would eventually move to Whistler with me. We went to our SWAP introduction together and had an amazing time.
One week later I made my way to Whistler — and the moment I arrived I was blown away. Just a few days in, the whole place transformed into a winter wonderland. It felt like walking through a Christmas movie, and I couldn’t wait for the holidays.
The entire season felt like a winter vacation. I worked a lot, partied even more, and spent most of my free time skiing. I don’t think I’ve ever skied that much in my life. I even learned how to snowboard. My six months in Whistler were long, but easily some of the most well spent. Christmas was magical, and even spring skiing was unforgettable.
I met so many amazing people and had countless adventures — riding snowmobiles, ziplining, attending exciting events, wandering through the village, and creating memories I’ll never forget. I also learned so much about myself.
I can’t describe how much that time means to me— all I can say is that it was legendary.
A ski season in Canada is the perfect start to a working-holiday-year. I never expected it to turn out this way, but I’m so grateful it did.

Leaving Whistler – Heartbreak & Excitement
After such an incredible winter, leaving Whistler was heartbreaking. I had spent six months between Vancouver and Whistler, made amazing memories, met incredible people, and spent way too much money — but I don’t regret a single thing.
Still, I knew I wanted to see more of Canada. So, in May, I packed my bags for the next adventure: a road trip on Vancouver Island.
